The highest peak in the Himalayas of Independent India – Kanchenjunga with an elevation of 8,586 meters (28,169 ft). It's located in Sikkim(India) and Nepal. Kanchenjunga is the third-highest peak in the world, and its name means "The Five Treasures of Snows".

Anamudi – Highest peak of peninsular India located in the Idukki and Ernakulam districts of Kerala, at 8,842 ft (2,695 m). Anamudi in Eravikulam National Park is also the highest peak in the Western Ghats.

Girnar Hill (also known as Revatak Parvata) – Situated in Junagadh, Gujarat, India.
The tallest hill range in the Eastern Ghats – Biligiriranga Hills in Karnataka.
The Eastern Ghats run from Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka and are cut through by the four major rivers of peninsular India, known as the Godavari, Mahanadi, Krishna, and Kaveri.
The Satpura Range – Part of the Deccan plate and runs parallel to the Vindhya Range. The range runs between the Narmada and Tapti rivers.
The Garo, Khasi, and Jaintia Hills – Part of the Meghalaya plateau in India and were formed at the same time as the Himalayas.
Mizo Hills – Located in the states of Mizoram and Tripura, a sub-range of Patkai hills.
Ananthagiri Hills – Located in Vikarabad district, Telangana. The water flows from these hills to Osman Sagar. It is the birthplace of Musi river which flows through Hyderabad.
The Satmala mountain range is part of the Sahyadris range – Located in the Nashik district of Maharashtra. The highest peak in the range is Dhodap.
The Cardamom Hills or Yela Mala – Southernmost range of India, situated on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Their name comes from the cardamom spice which grows in the hills and also grows pepper and coffee.
Mahendragiri Peak – Located in the Eastern Ghats of Odisha. It is the second-highest mountain in Odisha and a biodiversity hotspot since 1986.
Mishmi, Dafla and Patkai Hills – Located in Arunachal Pradesh.
Malwa Plateau – Situated between Aravali and Vindhya range.

Shevaroy Hills – Located in the Eastern Ghats of Tamil Nadu, near the city of Salem.
The Borra Caves – Located on the East Coast of India, in the Ananthagiri hills of the Araku Valley of Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh.
Kamet Mountain – Located in the Chamoli District of Uttarakhand. It is the second-highest mountain in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand after Nanda Devi.
Trikuta Hills is a series of hills in the Shiwalik Mountain range of Jammu and Kashmir. The hills are famous for being the home of Mata Vaishno Devi.
